As a member of NOPA and NFPA, your participation helps to set the foundation for the future of the paralegal profession.  

• Membership in the National Federation of Paralegal Associations provides for discounts on car rentals, hotels and other travel and vacation opportunities.  See website at www.paralegals.org for a list of the many benefits of being a member of NFPA.

• Monthly Membership Meetings. Meetings are held in either New Orleans or Metairie and usually feature a guest speaker from the legal profession. Lunch is provided for all current members.

• Newsletter. The Newsletter includes information on local paralegal activities, as well as educational opportunities, technology updates, articles of interest for all fields of practice, and local and national issues affecting the paralegal profession.

• Networking. Opportunities to network with paralegals and others involved in the legal field at meetings, social events and other functions.

• Pro Bono Opportunities. Participation in volunteer legal services, charitable events and outreach programs.

• Special Events. NOPA holds various social events throughout the year, including a Summer Dinner Meeting with a guest speaker, a holiday luncheon as well as monthly after work get-togethers.

• Job Bank. This service is free to all members. Employers throughout the city and surrounding areas are invited to notify our Job Bank Coordinator when a position becomes available.

• Continuing Education. NOPA sponsors one of the best annual education seminars for paralegals in the area. The seminar is held in the fall and features a variety of topics of interest to paralegals in all fields of practice.
