NOPA and NFPA

MILITARY OUTREACH PROGRAM

Here is a great way to support our Military. NOPA and NFPA both participate in the Military Outreach Program. This program collects items to send to our brave men and women currently serving overseas. These items are not readily available to them and they really enjoy receiving them along with information about our Association.

“NOPA will be mailing its final care packages of the year to our NFPA-sponsored military assignment from NFPA—which is the Client Services office, Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan.  We have received a very nice thank-you letter signed by all the staff there, thanking NOPA for the care packages they have received from us thus far this year.  It reads:  “We greatly appreciate the care packages that your program sends to us.  Our legal assistance office has three paralegals and two attorneys and we all gather round to open your care packages.  My husband  is also deployed to Afghanistan and he’s from Monroe, Louisiana.  Seeing (and eating) Zapp’s Spicy Cajun Crawtators brought a huge smile to his face.  We appreciate all the snacks, candy, toiletry items and the books.  These little things brighten our days.  Thank you for your continued support and… Geaux Saints!  Sincerely, Captain, Judge Advocate, Chief, Client Services.”  You are welcome, Client Services!

 Throughout the year, at each NOPA General Membership Meeting a collection will be taken of items that NOPA will box and mail to a designated military base or ship. The boxes will be mailed on a quarterly basis. The items will be distributed to the Troops along with Notes from NOPA thanking them for their service and telling them about ourselves and our community.

If you would like to participate but are unable to bring an item to the meetings, cash donations will be accepted so that phone cards may be purchased.  Below is a list of suggested Donation items:
